Frequently Asked Questions
What are decimal hours and why are they used?
Decimal hours convert minutes into a base-10 fraction (e.g. 15 minutes = 0.25 hrs, 30 minutes = 0.5 hrs, 45 minutes = 0.75 hrs). They are the universal standard for payroll, timesheets, and client hourly billing.
How does overnight time calculation work?
When the end time is numerically earlier than the start time (such as 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM), the tool automatically adds 24 hours to compute the correct 8-hour elapsed shift.
Can I add hours and minutes to a specific start time?
Yes! Use the 'Add / Subtract Time' tab to add or subtract any number of hours, minutes, and seconds from a base clock time.
Is there a limit on time calculations?
No, all time arithmetic runs client-side with millisecond precision.
